Beautifying Myself with the Rose VoxBox

I'm super late in getting this posted, but I received by Rose VoxBox a few weeks ago!  For those of you who aren't familiar, Influenster is a company which partners with different brands and companies, and then sends products for testing to its members.

This is the largest VoxBox I've received so far and I was very pleased and excited to try all of the products.

The Products:

$3.69 for a box of 5 packets of 4 biscuits
I'm a fan of these biscuits because they're very filling and aren't too sugary.  They are also a great source of fiber, B-vitamins, have 18-20 grams of whole grain per serving, and contain no high fructose corn syrup.  After receiving my Influenster package, I incorporated them into my breakfast the following morning and they were delicious.

$12.49

I can not begin to explain how incredibly comfortable these cushions are.  I've never been a big advocate for shoe inserts, but after trying these, I'm definitely converted.  I put these cushions in a pair of my favorite boots, and they were instantly my most comfortable shoes.  They're pretty pricey, but are definitely worth spending $13 bucks on.

$6.99
I've been seeing gradation manicures for months on Pinterest and have never had the guts to attempt it myself, but after receiving this kit in the mail I figured it was time to give it a shot.  And boy, am I glad I did.  The application was super easy, and the finished product was sleek and provided the perfect effect.

$5.99
I haven't had a chance to try this out yet, but I've been looking for a new mascara so hopefully I'll be happy with this product.

$3.99 for a 5.1oz bag
Keep the delicious chocolate coming, Influenster, I ain't complaining.  One word for this: delectable.

My Varisty VoxBox is Finally Here!

Yesterday I picked up my third VoxBox to date; the Varsity VoxBox.  It was full of products geared toward college students, and I'm actually really pleased with the contents*!

VoxBoxes are so awesome because they give you the opportunity to try a variety of new products without having to commit to the first purchase.  And let me just say, a good majority of the products I've gotten from Influenster, I've also purchased when I ran out.

The Products:

Retail Price: $4.99 for a 16ct.

I'm pretty excited to try these out because as a broke college kid, I need all the resources available to keep my clothes intact and vibrant**.  I'll let you guys know how my clothes turn out this weekend after I do laundry.

Price: $1.69 for 6oz. bag

Okay, so these are delicious.  So delicious that my boyfriend and I have eaten almost the entire bag since I brought them home . . . last night.  Buy these, they're fantastic.

Price: $6.49

The information card that accompanied the products in my VoxBox describes this product as a daily cleanser "formulated with a blend of Superfruit Extracts, Vitamin B3 and blemish prevention for radiant skin day after day."  I received three samples, and used my first this morning*** and it was absolutely fantastic!  Three hours later, my face still feels amazing and the scent was so fresh.  I've been looking for a great cleanser that won't dry my face out, but won't make it too oily either and I'm hopeful that I've found that product.

Price: $3.99

I'm not big on lip glosses because they usually leave my lips feeling really sticky, but I decided to give this gloss a shot anyway.  Honestly, this will most likely be a gloss that sits at the bottom of my purse for months.  It did make my lips pretty plump, though, so there's that.  I think for someone who enjoys wearing lip gloss, this would be a perfect product.

Price: $6.99

I was so excited to try these nail appliques out that I've already applied them, and absolutely LOVE them!  I was on the fence at first because I had a really bad experience with a different brand, but I'm so glad I gave them a shot.  In fact, I've loved every single one of the Kiss nail products I've received**** from Influenster.  So yeah, buy these.  You won't be disappointed.

Look out in the coming days for more reviews of the specific products mentioned above.  And please, leave any feedback in the comments section below.  I'd love to hear your thoughts about any of the products.

*Sidenote:  Although, let's be real, a flash drive would have been awesome, too!
**Because buying new clothes every six months:  Ain't nobody got time (or money) for that.
***Well, afternoon.  It's Saturday, I'm allowed to forgo washing my face until the afternoon.
****And Kiss normally throws in a $1 off coupon with each products, so that's pretty awesome, too.

These Kiss Nail Dress Decals are Awesome!

I received a set of the Kiss Nail Dress decals complimentary as part of my Varisty VoxBox from Influenster. I was very apprehensive because I've only used these types of  nail appliques once, and it was a complete fiasco. In fact, it was so much of a fiasco that I vowed never to try them again. As I opened the package and pulled out the decals along with the file, I grew more worried, but decided to give them a shot anyway. My expectations for my manicure were very low, to say the least.
However, I removed the first decal from the plastic, placed it on my nail, smoothed, filed, and then repeated the process nine more times without a single problem.

From start to finish, this manicure took approximately twenty minutes, and there was no dry time! As a piece of advice, though, I would suggest trimming the appliques once they're on your fingers as this made the filing off the excess process much easier for me. I also had to re-file my nails a few times after the manicure just to ensure that I had gotten all the excess decal. Overall, these are an excellent product and I will certainly be utilizing my $1 off coupon I received along with them.

Pros:
  • Incredibly fast application
  • No drying time
  • Shiny, beautiful, and effortless
Cons:
  • Takes forever to file off excess decal
Bottom Line:
I would definitely recommend Kiss NailDress decals to anyone willing to try them.  They come in an array of styles, colors, and designs and are salon quality.  The next time I purchase these (and yes, there will certainly be a next time) I plan on painting my nails first and then cutting the appliques in different shapes for a really funky and fun manicure.  If you have the opportunity to try these delightful, and cost effective nail appliques I highly urge you to!
Compared to the more expensive brands of these nail appliques out there, Kiss not only stands up to the competition, but it knocks them out.

Glued to Broadway Nails imPRESS

A few months ago, I stumbled upon a website called Influenster.  Once a month, this awesome company sends out VoxBoxes full of goodies for members to try.  This past month I qualified and was sent both the Palmolive soft touch and Spring Fever VoxBoxes.  There's a ton of product that I still need to sift through and review, but today I'll be focusing on the Broadway Nails imPRESS collection.
I'll be honest, when I first opened the box and saw these nails I was transported straight back to middle school where my days were spent taming the unruly ball of frizz atop my head and playing dress-up with press-on nails.  Needless to say, I was pretty skeptical to try them.  When I realized how cute the print was, however, I decided I needed to at least give them a shot.
According to Broadway Nails, imPRESS Press-On Manicures "feature advanced nail technology, so you can get a salon-perfect manicure in seconds - simply peel off, press on, and you're done.  There's no drying, a killer shiner and a manicure that lasts up to a week!"
The color given to me was D060 "Over the Moon" and I actually have to say that I'm really pleased with how the manicure turned out.  Not only is the finished product smooth and makes my fingers look as if I spent at least an hour at a nail salon, but the application was super simple.  Seriously.
All I needed to do was match up the artificial nails to which finger they best fit, remove the plastic film from the adhesive, place the nail, and apply pressure.  Within ten minutes I had an awesome and effortless manicure that I'll be proud to sport around the office for the remainder of the week.  Prices range from $5.99-$7.99 per pack, and each package contains 24 nails so you can feasibly attain two manicures per package.

The Pros:

  • Simple Application
  • Quick
  • Convenient
  • Patterns and prints are versatile
The Cons:
  • Two applications for over $5 seems a little price-y
  • Although the packaging assures that they'll last for up to a week, I can already feel the weakest points on my manicure and I just did it a few hours ago.
Would I Buy This?
  • Yes, I would certainly buy these.  I wouldn't buy them for everyday wear, but for special occasions (like all of the weddings my friends have invited me to this summer) they are absolutely perfect.
The Bottom Line

Overall, I'm pleased with this product and would definitely recommend it for anyone wanting to give it a shot!

Update

So, after trying out these new nails, I would like to say that I stand corrected.  Not only was the manicure absolutely adorable, it lasted for over a week!  I take back everything I said about not buying these frequently.  If I were the type to wear nail art, I would buy these all the time!
